L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs
The L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs offers master’s degree programs in criminal justice, homeland security and emergency preparedness, public administration, sociology, and urban and regional planning. It also offers certificate programs, dual-degree programs and a doctoral program in public policy and administration.
School of Mass Communications
The School of Mass Communications offers a master’s degree in mass communications with concentrations in multimedia journalism and strategic public relations.
School of Allied Health Professions
The School of Allied Health Professions offers master’s and doctoral programs in areas including gerontology, health administration, health services administration and research, nurse anesthesia, occupational therapy, patient counseling, physical therapy, rehabilitation counseling, and clinical laboratory sciences, as well as certificates in aging studies, patient counseling and professional counseling.
School of Business
The School of Business offers graduate programs in business administration, accountancy, economics, finance, global marketing management, information systems, real estate valuation and more. It also serves as home to the Brandcenter, a nationally ranked graduate program in advertising.
School of Dentistry
The School of Dentistry offers a Master of Science in Dentistry with concentrations in endodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry and periodontics.
School of Education
The School of Education is ranked as one of the nation’s top 30 graduate programs in education by U.S. News & World Report — it offers a wide range of master’s and doctoral degrees including a Master of Education with concentrations in adult learning, counselor education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, reading, special education and sport leadership.
School of Engineering
The School of Engineering offers graduate and doctoral programs. Options include biomedical engineering, computer and information systems security, computer science, and mechanical and nuclear engineering, as well as engineering with various concentration areas.
School of Medicine
The School of Medicine offers more than two dozen master’s, doctoral and interdisciplinary programs, which can be pursued in combination with medical degrees.
School of Nursing
The School of Nursing is consistently ranked among the top 25 nursing schools in the country based on research funding from the National Institutes of Health. It offers a full range of graduate programs.
School of Pharmacy
The School of Pharmacy offers a professional Doctor of Pharmacy program and a graduate program in pharmaceutical sciences with concentrations including pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry and pharmacotherapy or pharmacoeconomics and health outcomes. Residencies and fellowships are available in a wide range of subspecialties at the postdoctoral level.
School of Social Work
The School of Social Work’s graduate programs are ranked 11th in the nation according to U.S. News & World Report. The school offers a Master of Social Work and Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work.
School of the Arts
The School of the Arts offers the No. 1 public graduate arts and design program in the country, as ranked by U.S. News & World Report. Its graduate programs include art education, art history, design, fine arts, music and theater.
VCU Life Sciences
VCU Life Sciences includes all academic disciplines that touch on biological life. It offers programs including a Master of Science, Master of Bioinformatics, Master of Environmental Studies and a Ph.D. in integral life sciences.
